Messages

Front's Channel API allows developers to build Application Channels: two-way communication streams that synchronize with Front.

Many Front teams have their own systems they want to connect to Front as a channel. With the Channels API, a team using Front or a partner of Front can build a new, first-class channel type. All Front users will be able to add the channel to be used, as they would with a native, Front built channel.

Learn more about channels

This documentation applies to Application Channels, but Front also offers a Custom Channel type. To learn about the differences between the two channel types, refer to our Channels Overview.

For more information on how to get started with Application Channels, please see our guide for Creating an Application Channel.

The following Application Channel endpoints are meant to synchronize conversations and messages from a third party system to Front. When a message is sent or received in your third party system, synchronize it with Front by using these endpoints.
